Molinaro: 7.0- The much maligned defender has been impressive in his last few outings and continued that trend with another solid performance tonight. Chiellini: 7.0- Almost managed to score for both teams as he touched the ball onto his own post and then was robbed by Doni from point blank range. Legrottaglie: 7.5- Was a tower of power tonight and kept a close lid on Baptista and Vucinic. Grygera: 6.0- Passed a late fitness test to feature in the lineup and managed to gallop forward on occasion but the final product was always poor. Machionni: 7.5- Took his goal extremely well as he lifted the ball over Doni for the second goal of the match. Tiago: 6.0- The Portuguese playmaker was solid but unspectacular this evening. Sissoko: 6.0- The Mali international had a quiet evening and failed to make any of the crunching tackles that he is famous for. Nedved: 7.0- The timeless Czech midfielder was full of energy and has shown that he still has some gas left in the tank. Amauri: 7.5- Almost scored a brilliant overhead kick to start the second half but Doni made a great reflex save. Del Piero: 8.0- Scored an absolute stunning free kick that would have beaten any goalkeeper in the world. SUBS: Iaquinta (74”) 6.0, Mellberg (76”) 6.0, De Ceglie (80”) NA ROMA Doni: 6.0- Made a world class reflex save on Chiellini but had no chance on Del Piero’s wonderful free kick and Marchionni’s chip. Riise: 5.5- Has struggled recently and did not look comfortable at all tonight. May have been a wasteful signing by the Giallorossi Juan: 6.0- Was caught out of position on more than one occasion and has struggled since coming back into the lineup after an injury layoff. Mexes: 5.0- Was nowhere to be found on Marchionni’s goal and had an overall poor evening. Panucci: 5.5- The right back was very emotional and did not lead by example questioning many of the referee’s decisions. Perrotta: 5.0- Disappeared for long stretches of the match and failed to make any sort of impression on the match Pizarro: 5.0- Gave the ball away cheaply on many occasions and did not look match fit this evening. De Rossi: 7.0- The Italian international was the lone bright spot on what was a gloomy evening for the Giallorossi Taddei: 6.0- Was dangerous on the left flank in the early going but then faded into obscurity before being substituted off. Vucinic: 6.0- Drifted in and out of the match and will be disappointed with his effort tonight. Baptista: 6.5- The Beast is maddeningly inconsistent as he looked like a world beater for a stretch in the first half and then fell completely off of the radar the rest of the way.
