The Chelsea boss has always stated he keeps an eye out for Roma after spending many years there as a player. The Giallorossi are going through a financial crisis with deep debts and a take-over bid from a Swiss conglomerate represented by Vinicio Fioranelli. It's reported this morning that Ancelotti could give President Rosella Sensi a lifeline by offering big money for two of their players. Mexes and Juan are well loved in the Eternal City, but would be available for a significant fee, especially as they failed to qualify for the Champions League. The Frenchman has also been linked with Milan, so selling him to an overseas club would ensure Roma did not strengthen their direct rivals. Juan only recently renewed his contract at the Olimpico, but again a significant offer could release him to Stamford Bridge. A new defender may well be needed if Ricardo Carvalho completes his move to Inter for a reunion with Jose Mourinho.
