Nicola Irti is the lawyer of the Fio Sports Group, the consortium that is in negotiations to take over a majority stake in Roma, and stirred up controversy earlier this week when he alleged that ‘obscure forces’ were trying to derail their bid. Vinicio Fioranelli, the chairman of the Fio Sports Group, soon distanced himself from the lawyer’s comments, but Irti has spoken out again this morning and his latest remarks are sure to have a far bigger resonance. “I only said what I was thinking,” Irti told Radio Centro Suono Sport when asked about his controversial interview given to Sky Sport Italia. “I can confirm everything. Will everything be resolved by next Monday? There is always a next Monday...” But Irti then strangely focused his attention on a different target, Francesco Totti. “The Giallorossi population must stick with me, because they have suffered too many injustices over the past three or four years,” he explained. “From Totti too.
