The event was protesting against to the UK Government's replacing of the Trident Nuclear Weapons system. Fifty-three acts have signed up to support the campaign including Arcade Fire, Brian Eno and Kaisers Chiefs. Tonight, Damon debuted a new piece he'd written called Five Minutes To Midnight which was performed by a 50-piece choir and featured actors recounting the world's nuclear history in front of visuals created by Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja. Damon explained: "It's just a chance to meditate on the realities of Trident and create a moment to that thought process. There's a growing anxiety in the artistic community and it's starting to express itself." The gig comes on the back of the launch of anti-Trident website no-bomb.com unveiled last week ahead of the Government vote on renewing the weapons which is set to take place on 14 March.
