The band won the gong for their shows at the London park, which took place on July 2 and 3 last year. "Thank you very much indeed for this," drummer Dave Rowntree said as he, Graham Coxon and Damon Albarn accepted the award. "Alex [James, bassist] sends apologies, he's out milking wildebeest." "It's probably the only thing I'll win this year," he added, jokingly referring to his political career. "I don't know what to say... we had a nice time," Coxon added. Jay-Z was nominated for his Alexandra Palace show last year, as were Muse (for their Teignmouth homecoming gigs), Oasis (for their Manchester Heaton Park shows) and The Dead Weather (for their gig at London's Shoreditch Church).
