Although some specimens, primarily the ones posed as people in sports, seem to carry very commercialized purposes, the rest of the specimens are amazing. Many things are normally not seen in other anatomical museums. Catch it while it's still here! Body Worlds is only staying in Toronto for another week or so. Since it was the first time I went to the OSC, I took the time to look around the other parts of it. Honestly, I find it a bit boring, because it consists of mostly kids stuff. The OSC may be a great location for high school science field trips. The few things I found cool were: a PT6 gas turbine, a mini-tornado maker/ simulator, and an original punchcard computer. The rain forest section is nicely done,but it is small. (I saw a really good one in San Francisco two years ago, I wonder if it will, or has, come to Toronto.) In the ocean section there is small a water tank with some corals and tropical fish, and there is a "wave bucket" and sunlamps to simulate their natural habitat, and this one is also really cool. I didn't purchase an IMAX film today. One of the IMAX films they are showing is called Human Body, and obviously I think it would have paled in comparison with the Body Worlds exhibition - probably not worth watching. However there is another film, called Fighter Pilots, that might have been interested - if you happen to like this sort of stuff, like I do - but I ended up not going to see it. Oh well.
