According to Vivianna Velazquez of The Fish Pen, Lopez had reached an agreement with the Bridgeport Bluefish (Independent; Atlantic League), but was released from his contract to join the Elephants. In 11 major league season the switch-hitter played on eight different teams, and was an All-Star for the Cincinnati Reds in 2005.
