標題[文法] can否定的用法

我是國中學生，我的英文老師今天教can的句型，
他說在一個否定句時，不能將can not分開寫，
只能寫「縮寫」，除非是強調語氣，但我問我的
補習班老師，他說沒有這個說法，現在有點被
搞糊塗了，可請各位解釋一下，謝謝。
I can't speak French.(o)
I can not speak French(強調語氣）
這樣是對的嗎？
我以前學英文記得都可以用啊？
而且我的補習班老師說，只有聽過寫正式文章
不能「縮寫」，但沒聽過否定不能縮寫！

我更正我的錯誤，老師說只能寫
I can’t speak French.= I cannot speak French.
但不可以寫I can not speak French.
