標題[請益] 最高級後面的名詞可否省略？

以下改寫題裡，最高級後面的名詞是否可省略？
1.Peter is taller than all the other children in the family.
=>Peter is the tallest "child" in the family.
2.Vivian is better than any other student in her class.
=>Vivian is the best "student" in her class.
