Today's the day when I should hide under the bed; Couples everywhere, no matter where I tread. I need groceries, so eventually I must crawl out, But 'tis the day that reminds me I'm still unwed. Overpriced chocolates and teddy bears are oh so widespread, Not to mention balloons and flowers - all make me see red! Everything's pink and fluffy, romantic beyond a doubt, But to me it's not love, it's just money in its stead. Everywhere are lovers, all heels over head; The atmosphere thick and choking with whatever's unsaid... 'Tis the day that all manner of nonsense from everybody sprouts, But don't believe he loves you, he's just thinking of head. I'd switch on the TV, but I know what's ahead, Every program a Special, eternal love being plead. When it comes to crappy TV I don't beat about, And today's programs will be especially brain-dead. And so I crawl back, under the bed, With dust for company, all rubbish and thread.
