Sampras was a great player, Agassi still is fantastic, and of course you look at a player's record when they retire and then see where they fit in the general scheme of things. And at the end of his career Federer will surely be judged as one of the best that ever picked up a tennis racket. In terms of pure standard I cannot see one single weakness at the moment, and the onus is on the likes of Safin and Ferrero and Roddick to now step up. They will be worried, and they'll have to find another gear, because I expect Federer is going to win all of the Grand Slams at some point in his career. He is a confidence player, a front-runner, and he has every shot in the book. Federer takes title A particular part of his play I picked up on while watching the final was how h e intimidates his opponents on their second serve. Time and time again Federer would move once Safin had started his service action, lining himself up for a killer forehand when the Russian's focus was on the ball in the air. Federer was taking the game away from Safin, and he wasn't used to that - no- one is used to it - especially when your second serve is as good as Marat's. Safin has beaten some wonderful players, but his game was dismantled, and he had no comeback. Federer's win is great for the sport and, if he keeps this up, records will fall. With Federer and Justine Henin-Hardenne winning here we now have two elegant stroke-makers at the top of the game. --
