In response to the follies of today's commercial and political worlds,
the author does not (express) inflamed indignation, but rather (affects)
the detachment and smooth aphoristic prose of an eighteenth-century wit.
能否請教文中affects該當何解?
當"影響"來解釋很怪
可是如果當"假裝"解
"the author"如何能假裝成"prose"呢?
