Posey had a huge year for the Grizzlies, averaging 13.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg and a 38.6% three-point percentage. However, his defense was even better, as he averaged 1.67 spg and 0.49 bpg while almost always defending the opponent’s best player. Perhaps what endeared him to Grizzlies fans the most though was his intensity, and his ability to come through in the clutch. Posey made numerous big shots for the Grizzlies late in games last season, and delivered what may have been the best shot of the season when he hit a 34-foot heave from just inside halfcourt against Atlanta on Mar. 29 that tied the game at the end of the first overtime, forcing a second overtime, a game the Grizzlies eventually won. Posey had an incredible night, scoring a career-high 38 points on 10-17 shooting from the field, 4-7 shooting from three-point range and 14-15 shooting from the free throw line.
