The Spurs striker took exception to being substituted in Tuesday's win over Senegal and vented his feeling for all to see. Mido received a six-month ban by Egypt that crucially ruled him out of Friday's African Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast. Jol believes it was out of character for the 22-year-old to be unprofessional as Shehata was vindicated in his decision to take off the striker. "The incident did surprise me, because I think I know Mido very well," said Jol. "He has done well on and off the pitch - and although it's not really our responsibility, he's our player so I have to have an opinion on it. "I do feel sorry for him in that he's not allowed to play in the final, but there's always two ways of looking at the situation. "In this one you have to say that the coach was right, because the substitute (Amr Zaki) scored the goal and they won the game.
