The 20-year-old central midfielder is rated as one of the hottest prospects in the Bundesliga and has been linked with a move to Sevilla for most of the summer. However, Spurs boss Martin Jol is said to have put in a 5million bid - almost double what the Spanish Primera Liga outfit have offered - in an attempt to gazump the UEFA Cup winners. Hertha boss Dieter Hoeness is now considering the club's next move, according to the Daily Mail. Boateng was born in Berlin to a German mother and Ghanaian father and has dual nationality. His tough upbringing and love of tattoos led him to invent the nickname 'Ghetto Kid'. He has featured at all youth levels for Germany but is yet to commit himself to the senior national team, having also considered playing for Ghana.
