新聞來源 - Sky Sports Poyet hails Woodgate display Tottenham assistant Gus Poyet was full of praise for new signing Jonathan Woodgate as he kept a clean sheet on his debut in the 0-0 draw at Everton. Woodgate was excellent at the head of the Spurs defence as he marshalled them throughout the clash at Goodison Park. Poyet was beaming with the impact made by Woodgate. "Absolutely fantastic," Poyet told Sky Sports. "He was commanding at the back four, winning every ball in the air, tight when he needed to be tight and his decisions - sometimes players who make the good decisions are the best. "We were very pleased with him and will make sure he is fully recovered for Saturday." Poyet says Woodgate has settled in really well already following his move from Middlesbrough on Monday. "He has trained once with the whole team, but he knows a few of the players so it was quite easy - he is a great lad and is simple for the rest of the team to get on, I know he is going to be very popular with the club," he said. Poyet was very happy with Spurs' effort in their draw on Merseyside. "I would say that it is difficult to play here, they are very strong they play a game specific for them, the pitch was poor but it was difficult to defend but I was delighted with the attitude of the players, the determination the fight and yes it was a scrappy game for 75 minutes but I really enjoyed the last 15 minutes as we started to pass and attack and made the whole place a little nervous," he continued.
