As the English Premier League and American basketball league (NBA) are both very popular in China, Roca believes that there is an untapped resource for the Spanish league to exploit. "The principal short-term measure is to have matches that are played at a time that allows for a larger audience in China," Roca explained to Marca at an event promoting Spanish football in Canton. "This season, we could start to have games in Spain at 3 o'clock in the afternoon," he continued. This would allow matches to be aired in prime-time slots in China at 21:00 or 22:00 local time.
