And while Ortiz spoke mostly about the Red Sox picking up his $12.5 million option on Nov. 4, he also had a guarantee that involved the future of the Rangers. Ortiz said that fellow designated hitter, Vladimir Guerrero, will remain in a Texas uniform. "This is not the end of the relationship between them," Ortiz said. "I guarantee he will go back and play for Texas and get good money. You can put that down right now. "I'm going to tell you one thing -- he'll get more than one year, too. You wait and see." The Rangers did not pick up Guerrero's $9 million option at the end of the season. General manager Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington both want Guerrero to return in 2011. After leading the Rangers with 115 RBIs during the regular season, Guerrero struggled in the postseason, hitting .220 with no homers, six RBIs and a .271 slugging percentage. And even with Guerrero going 1-for-14 with no homers and two RBIs in the World Series, general manager Jon Daniels said the club will look at more than the snapshot of the postseason to evaluate his future with the Rangers. "He's got a pretty big body of work that we can evaluate," Daniels said. "And obviously, we'll look at it all in context, but we're not going to evaluate him on two weeks of games when he's had a career of excellent performance."
