The England Under 21 international wants to sign a new long-term contract after being promised he would be awarded a new deal if he played a certain amount of games. Taylor is keen to stay at St James' Park and be involved in Sam Allardyce's revolution, but he has warned the club's board not to mess him around. Talks are set to get underway in the next few days and the highly-rated defender is anxious to get things sorted out. "We have to wait and see how that goes and how my future lies," Taylor told the Mirror. "I want to stay. It is up to the board what they want to do with me but I don't want to be messed about. "It is as simple as that.
