The Wii was launched in North America on November 19, where 600,000 of the consoles were sold in the first eight days, and subsequently launched in Japan on December 2 and Europe on December 8, according to the sources. The importing the Japanese-version of the Wii into Taiwan is, strictly speaking, illegal because only Hakuyu, the Taiwan sales agent for Nintendo, is licensed to import the game console, accessories and related software, the sources pointed out.
