"Alexander quoted doctors as saying the injury would not keep McGrady out as
long as the eight games (all losses) he missed with a strained back this
season.
An MRI was set for this morning. With Yao Ming several weeks away
from returning from toe surgery and Juwan Howard serving a one-game
suspension, the Rockets played the second half with an all-backup frontcourt.
Four of their top five scorers were missing. "Not in my 15 years over my
career," center Dikembe Mutombo said when asked if he had seen a season like
this. "Sometimes I am wondering, 'Why is it happening?'"
