The diagnosis ended his NBA career but saved his life. He was fitted with a pacemaker during surgery and Tuesday that pacemaker will be replaced. 現年41歲的Hoiberg在2005年被診斷出有主動脈根部瘤。這個診斷結束了他的NBA生涯卻救 了他的命。他在當時的手術被植入了心律調整器，而這禮拜二這設備會被重新替換。 Hoiberg thought his current pacemaker would last until next year, but a checkup suggested the batteries need changing now. Hoibert原本以為他現在的心律調整器可以用到明年，不過在一次的檢查中發現內部的電 池需要更換。 Hoiberg often describes the changing of his pacemaker as “routine surgery.” If all goes well, he’ll be out of the hospital the same day as the procedure. With successful surgery, good doctors, and the pacemaker, he’s able to live a regular life.
