The Timberwolves center has taken about 10 classes in the past two years to finish his degree in communications. He will graduate in May. "I knew that once you stop, it's hard to go back; that's what a lot of NBA players said," Dieng said. Dieng said he would get up early in the morning and do his schoolwork before Wolves practices and games. Dieng said his host mother at Huntington Prep (W.Va.), Lesley Thomas, also was encouraging him to get his degree. He then played three seasons at Louisville before entering the 2013 NBA draft, where he was taken with the 21st pick. "It will be an accomplishment," Dieng said of his degree. "I'm very excited. I usually go home after the season (to Senegal), but this year I'm going to wait until I graduate and make sure I walk" in the ceremony. --
