The Portugal international is being lined up as Valencia's latest big name signing following a successful summer which has seen Stefano Fiore and Marco Di Vaio headline a raft of quality recruits. Bordeaux are prepared to accept Valencia's offer of a season-long loan for Caneira. But the stumbling block is that Valencia want a purchase option written into the agreement, while Bordeaux want to have Caneira available to them for season 2005/06.
