GIVING TO UNICEF THE MONEY COLLECTED IN FAVOUR OF THE VICTIMS OF SOUTH- EASTERN ASIA 22/03/2005 16:24 This noon the cheque with the money collected in favour of the victims of south-eastern Asia has officially given to UNICEF in the press room of Ciudad Deportiva. The money was collected thanks to a match between a team formed by a mixture of Valencia C.F. and Levante U.D players and another team formed by some players of the National League out of solidarity with the victims of TSUNAMI. The total amount of money collected was 54193 euros; 39000 of them from the glass cases, 6000 donated by Valencia C.F. and other 6000 by Levante U.D. and 3000 donated by Canal 9. Vicente Soriano, Valencia C.F's vice-president, has been present in the ceremony as well as Levante UD's vice-president Manuel Vinaixa; Angel Fonfrias and Ines Carrasco from UNICEF, and from Canal 9, its director Jose Llorca and the sports director Francisco Lloret. This way UNICEF (whose ambassador in the world is Valencia C.F) will support at least economically the victims of the tragedy of south-eastern Asia. Vice-president Soriano has stated in the press conference that Valencia C.F "is showing its sensibility towards the world that surround the club, that's why our president decided to help and to be with the victims of south- eastern Asia. For that purpose, we have had the help of all the players who took part in the match, of Levante UD, of Canal 9, UNICEF and most of all, of valencian society who attended the event and made a contribution for a great cause.
