Navarro - 7.5: Valencia's defence stood out above the rest of the team and he did well on various occasions to thwart Racing. Dealbert - 7.5: It was a hard-working and gritty display from the Valencia rearguard and he was synonymous with that. Mathieu - 6: Was beaten too often by Arana, but he did ensure that the winger did not create a goal for Racing and that was vital. Marchena - 6.5: Produced a typical dogged display as he put himself about in a midfield battle that was fiercely fought. Banega - 6: Was unable to give the team the same presence in the midfield as he has done in recent game, but that is down to Racing as much as anything. Joaquín - 7: Worked hard to hold the ball up and look for an opening in the Racing defence and he made his case to start in the next game. Mata - 6: Having produced such high class performances this term the Spain international was not on song. Miku - 5.5: Showed glimpses of ability, but against a team that prevented Valencia from creating on the break his input was limited. Villa - 6: Had chances, but he too looked tired on occasion and the injury that he suffered could have been a result of so many matches. Subs Silva - 7: Showed directness and creativity that had been lacking with one driving run into the area showing what he can do. Zigic - 7.5: It may have been a back-pass but he showed great close control and calmness to round the keeper and score the winning goal.
