yuno's June Updates 06 19 2009 2:00PM Dear Fans of Navy Field, As always, I really hope everyone is doing well as summer fast approaches. I do not know how to start the update for this month, but, I will try my best. 1. Your Great Feedback I want to start out with saying that I deeply appreciate all who sent me great feedback about Navy Field. There are so many great ideas and I was really happy that so many players are still greatly supporting NF. I will arrange all of the ideas and try to implement them into the game. One thing I wanted to comment on was one of the most common suggestions, "Why are we not doing any advertising?" The answer to this is very simple; because I still feel like we are not ready for it. As you all know, we still have some problems to fix before bringing in many new players to the game. This is why I asked for feedback from you. Once I feel confident with NF, then I have a plan set for advertisement and events. Once again, thank you all for your support of NF. 2. Patch Update Schedule Change Currently, we are updating the patch on a weekly basis with new updates as they come along. Starting in August, we will change the patch update to a monthly schedule. We will update the patch every 2nd Thursday of the month. The reason behind this plan is that it's really a pain to see players waiting for new patches every week. Every time I read the usual "Guess tonight's patch" thread, I notice that if there is no patch, then players become very disappointed which makes me feel pretty bad. I hope this plan will minimize this from happening. I hope you all understand this plan. 3. Storage System As you all know, the storage system (HQ system) has been patched this week. 12 slots are given free by default and another 12 slots are provided free to Premium account holders. However, I tested this out myself and I found that 12 slots are not enough for most players. Therefore, I asked the dev team to change it to 24 free slots for all players and another 24 free slots to Premium account holders. I hope this helps you play NF more seamlessly and thanks to all of you have been waiting patiently for this patch. 4. Account Merge We have a new storage system, so I've decided to provide an option to merge accounts for players who have multiple NF accounts. With the new system you do not have to switch back and forth between different accounts. I will discuss this with the GMs and let you know the full details when I have them. It will be available as an option for those who would see benefit in it. It will not be mandatory. Please bear with us until we make a detailed announcement. 5. Server Problems in Arizona and Missouri This morning all servers experienced quite a bit of trouble. Only the New York server came back safely. They are all fixed now, but I am deeply sorry about this problem. It was due to hardware issues with the servers which is why it took a bit longer to recover from than usual. I will discuss some types of compensation with other GMs and will let you know the details. Once again, thank you for your patience. 6. New Nation Follow-up I am sorry; no new ships this time since the person who is in charge of the new ship has gone to military training. I do have a new shipyard screen for France, and I really like it. I hope you like it too. 7. My Update This update is the hardest update I've had to write. As you may know, I had gone to Korea for about a month and promised to bring back some news and updates. As you can see though, there isn't much new update information. It's really hard to be a messenger between the company and the players. Each time that I am able to provide an update, players get excited over it. After some time though, they eagerly await for news of the progress as they anticipate the updates. While I was in Korea I had few meetings with the dev team and found that they are doing their very best. They are working overtime every day without overtime pay. I know it's not your problem, and it should not be your problem either. You should expect something better for paying us. Ah... it's really hard but I really don't know how to act between the company and players. I understand both sides and I cannot blame either one. Only people I can blame are my bosses since they are not hiring new programmers fast enough. It takes a really long time to implement new things into the game and I am sorry that everything is being done so slowly. There are so many great ideas for this game but we are not big enough to handle them all. This is first time I have felt miserable working for a young company. I guess I don't have a choice but to work strongly in my current position and do my best for you guys.
