Please tolerate my shabby writing as I don't want to spend too much time
on this...
I think this can be explained by scientific evidence that birds always only
soar high when they flap their wings along with the air flow. Nowadays,
the importance of team work is more important than personal achievement.
On the other hand, having the insights to do the right things in one's era
is more important than mere hardwork.
So only the egals and some birds glid high among the sky. Birds which only
soars with his own wings are unable to aim too high.
IMHO
Hubris is the worst enemy of success, therefore boasting about one's own
achievement reached by hardwork is rather shallow and unsatisfying,
at least to me, ultimately damaging to mental health and the understanding
of the law divine.
Passionate people enjoy whatever they do; they intend not to compete with or
beat the others. This is why innovations and insights often came from
people who truely love what they do, instead of nasty snobs who appear to be
successful in the short term.
No offense, but IMHO
passionate & humble people > hardworking yet snobbish people >
those lazy ones who never even give a d**m to hardwork & try every means
to take advantage of others to ensure their own success.
XD
※ 引述《darksign (離雲)》之銘言:
: I've encountered this quote in a heated debate amongst my friends, and I would
: like to see everyone's take on this very interesting subject. :)
: The quote goes like this:
: No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings.
: My interpretation is that, one can be satisfied with the height he has reached,
: and boast about, so long as he has achieved his feats through his own power and
: hard work. And one that did not, is ultimately undeserving to do so.
: Now my friend's perspective, which I disagree, is relatively simple: The sky's
: the limit. As long as you try, there is no height that you cannot reach.
: Alright guys, any input would be greatly appreciated, let's hear 'em! :D
