The associations I have with the wind Sometimes, wind brings to the swirl of fantacy for the world. I often try to feel and think about the meanings of wind. Every morning when I get up, the soft wind breeze into the window to remind me of the morning. Whenever I am going to go to bed every night, the wind also accompanies to sleep. The chief reason why I like the wind is her tender heart of soothing other creatures. I often stand on the street corners to feel the caress of the breeze, which makes me happy and refreshed for another time. When walking along the roaring streets, I have common feelings with a lot of other persons alone in the city. The wind is a good resource for me to find imformations in my mind and my imaginations for the world. Every time when a gust of wind blows, she brings the greatest amount of plant seeds casualy and freely to anywhere she has reached. There are thus a lot of gymnosperm and angiosperm plants flourishing in the world. The trees in forests' thriving and the flowers in the wilderness' blooming highly ascribes to the gusts of wind in the nature. Without the flourshing of these plants, the world mush be as lethargic, sluggish and inactive as millions of years ago, and most aimals are unable to live. Many creatures in the world give tribute to the greatness of wind, but they don't boast about their liking for her. They just silently keep it in mind. The wind is fairly comfortable, elegant and cool for people and most creature in most occasions; maybe it is our reward offered by wind for our cherishment for her. In people's daily life, the wind plays an important part in cooling down the hotness of physical feelings. It's hard for one to cool down himself or herself merely by solid or irradiate conduction, so the wind seems even more important. If it had not been for the wind, people would have had no such a comfortable life. Besides, people nowadays have developed good wind power generation techniques, which really utilizes the wind in best ways. Except tempests, wind, especially breeze, is a so fabulous thing that has almost no drawbacks for people. However, the wind is sometimes also very destructive to humans and all creatures. The days of tempests are always people's nightmares. With the approach of typhoons and hurricans, the price of fruits and vegetables is likely to skyrocket, and many trees and flowers are devastated. If the wind is too strong, it usually brings misfortune to all creatures. In the meaning of Chinese character wind, it also means the trend or style of something, or a person of good virtue; but in English the wind doesn't have meanings of these kinds. I feel that the analogy between the wind and the sytle or trend is nice. When a trend is formed, it's just like the movement of a gust of wind which is impossible to be changed. The analogy between the wind and a person of good virtue is as well. But nowadays most people are driven by the popularity and bewildered in the clamor of vulgar informations. Many ordinary people are held up by their drift in pleasing or catering to the vulgar concepts and other people's thoughts, and they are unable to persist in their original goals and ideal in mind. It is impossible for nowaday people to portray a person of good virtue by analogy with the wind, more's the pity. --
