Dear philletheia, I can totally understand your feelings right now. But, you know what? It's not a big deal. I don't think you drop the ball. At least, you can write down this article, which many people are too afraid to do so. At times, all we have to do is just to face our weakness. Stage fright can be one, and believe me or not, you will come across more, bigger, more complicated challenges than this one in the near or distant future of your life. Never be afraid of saying hi to your weakness. Greet it, improve it, and become the better person that you are dreaming of. That is exactly what life is meant for. No one was born to be perfect. Actually, you don't have to be perfect, either. Dream the impossible dream and reach the unreachable star. It's interesting, isn't it? If our life leaves nothing to be desired, we won't have so much fun, and expectations for our life and ourselves. Always be active and postive and never compare yourself with ohters. All you have to find out is the best in you, not the best in others. Those so called " geniuses" are really satisfied with their life? Can they handle the depression of failure? As we know, no one can be successful for good, and failure will come sooner or later no matter if we are ready to embrace it. If you think you have tried, let me tell you to try harder. Someone once said, " When written in Chinese the word crisis is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity." Therefore, what did you get from it? Don't you think it just conveys that you need to better yourself? You can be depressed for sure, but not for too long. Time waits for no one. Pick up your passion toward English and show your ambition and enthusiasm again. No one can stop you unless you tell yourself not to keep going. My humble suggestion will be offered, and maybe it's not useful. If you can get a chance to go overseas for advanced study, I do believe that you will get your sense of achievement back pretty soon. If you don't have the chance, I think it is acceptable. That's becasue you have the answer to the professor's question. " What do you learn in the past four years?" " I learn that I am still not good at English. I truly know that I am not good enough and that is the reason why I can't quit now.
