the sea 是一篇很簡單、平淡的故事。
感覺很像有一個人吞吞吐吐地在跟你說一個秘密。
John Banville 的逗點下的很美，用字譴詞雋永，(字典字典…)
生命中的兩個時間交疊錯落地呈現。
寫男孩初萌的情慾，從女人到女孩，寫走進大宅院的局外人。
寫他童年時發現的一個秘密。
寫男人和患病的妻子，那種近乎無情的互諷互嘲，
寫男人和冷淡的女兒，身在咫呎心在天涯的疏離感。
一切是那麼平凡、簡單，卻又是那麼地讓人難忘。
我還是比較喜歡石黑一雄的 Never Let me Go，
不過愁緒輕淡淡的 the Sea，看起來真的很舒服。
