標題[中英] 請教一個翻譯

最近寫論文寫到 "對事不對人"
很想找到比較貼切的翻譯
通常這是用在人際衝突當中，
是挑起衝突者的自我辯護
在網路上找到許多翻譯，認為最好的一個是
...to confront the issue rather than the person
也有網友翻成
...to focus on the issue/fact rather than the person
其中"對"和"事"的翻譯變化很多
想請教各位板大的看法
