BEIJING, China (CNN) -- A major earthquake registering a magnitude of 7.5 shook central China's eastern Sichuan province Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. People in Beijing -- about 950 miles (1,528 kilometers) from the quake's epicenter -- felt "a very quiet rolling sensation" that lasted for about a minute, according to CNN correspondent John Vause.
