Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani faces a two week spell on the sidelines after tests revealed inflammation to ligaments in his right ankle. Romanews.eu claims the talented midfielder visited a clinic in Bologna where he was seen by Professor Sandro Giannini, who diagnosed the injury. It is believed Aquilani is suffering from a bout of inflammation and he has been told to rest for 15 days. Earlier reports suggested the possibility of surgery, however, that has been ruled out. Nevertheless, there are suggestions that the club may seek a second opinion from Professor Van Dijk, who is based in Amsterdam. There is a possibility that Aquilani may be sent to the Netherlands if the club feel that he can better cure the midfielder’s injury. The Italian international will now have to follow a recovery programme and will be at rest. He is likely to miss crucial games against Juventus, Bologna and Lazio. It's not good news for Luciano Spalletti and his side. The coach is already struggling to deal with a number of injuries as the problems at Trigoria continue to grow.
