President Sensi had announced the move was “indefinite”, but it has already come to an end after an appeal from the players. Captain Totti and vice-captain De Rossi met with Sensi today and a statement was released following their encounter. “We discussed all the arguments that have contributed to the unsatisfying results of this season, including disciplinary issues and the consequent bans, ” announced Roma. “It has been decided that the ritiro will be interrupted based on a precise request from the players, who guarantee to the club they will prove how strong their love for the Giallorossi colours is during these difficult times. They take on all responsibility for this decision. “The only objective is to end the campaign in the best possible way, which is their duty towards the fans and the club.” The supporters turned up to the Trigoria training ground yesterday to hold a meeting with the players as well. “During the meeting many things were said, analysing what caused us to reach this season’s results which have been below everyone’s expectations,” continued the Roma statement. “But there was no reference to pressure from our crowds, let alone in a negative sense.
