If you always want to use a custom folder location, you can modify your shortcut to Anki. On Windows, right-click on the shortcut, choose Properties, select the Shortcut tab, and add "-b /path/to/anki/folder" after the path to the program (something like C:\Program Files\Anki\anki.exe). You can also use this with the -l option to easily use Anki in different languages. Note On Windows, you should use a backslash (\) not a forward slash (/). If you want to permanently change the interface language, delete Documents/Anki/prefs.db and the initial startup screen will be shown again. After doing so, you’ll need to add any profiles you were using again. As long as you use the same profile name as before, Anki will pick up the files from before. --
