By Chris Myson 22 Jul 2010 21:52:00 Atletico Madrid have officially confirmed that Filipe Luís will join the club from Deportivo La Coruna if he passes a medical on Friday morning. According to reports in Spain, the transfer fee for the 24-year-old is around ￡9.3m (€11m). The left-back, who can also play further forward, has been capped by Brazil and is highly-rated for his performances with Depor since signing from Rentistas in 2006. Last season he had played every game of his side’s La Liga campaign and they were sitting as high as 4th in the table before he suffered a dreadful leg break against Athletic Bilbao in January, although he was able to make a swift recovery within four months.
