小弟键盘侠寄给FAA通报以下讯息, 希望FAA稽核长荣, 至少飞美国的班机不要过劳!
Incident Timeline (Based on Public Reports and Anonymous Crew Accounts):
Pre-Flight (Milan Layover, ~Sep 24, 2025): Ms. Sun felt unwell outbound from
Taipei but did not seek medical care abroad, citing pressure to complete
duties and fear of leave repercussions.
In-Flight (BR95, Sep 25): Symptoms worsened (chills, pain, mobility issues).
She informed the Cabin Purser (CP) and crew multiple times. Crew suggested
MedLink (satellite medical hotline), but CP refused activation. Ms. Sun was
reassigned to strenuous tasks (e.g., full beverage/meals service for two
segments) despite inability to return to her jumpseat unaided. She explicitly
requested in-flight rest or relief, denied.
Post-Arrival (TPE, Sep 25): At remote apron (outer tarmac), Ms. Sun demanded
edge-of-runway ambulance due to severe pain; CP refused twice, citing "no
other wheelchair passengers—too long a wait" and "self-pay costs" (despite
her insurance confirmation). Forced to descend stairs with crew assistance,
crying out in pain; CP prioritized shuttle departure without support.
Hospitalized September 26 at Linkou Chang Gung; condition deteriorated,
transferred October 8, deceased October 10.
Post-Death Insensitivity (Oct 14): On funeral day, dispatcher messaged her
account demanding September 27 sick leave proof; family replied with death
certificate, highlighting internal communication failures.
Safety Risks to U.S. Operations:
EVA's point-based sick leave system (per union complaints) discourages
reporting, violating FRMS mandates (14 CFR § 117 equivalents under Part 129)
for proactive fatigue monitoring. Unaddressed illness increases error risks
(e.g., impaired evacuations, medical diversions) on long-haul flights like
BR95, mirroring U.S. routes.
Denial of MedLink/ambulance breaches ICAO/FAA-aligned emergency protocols (§
121.795–797), potentially exposing U.S. passengers to crew incapacity.
EVA Air operates multiple daily flights to nine U.S. gateways (e.g., LAX,
SFO, JFK, DFW), transporting millions of passengers and over 790,000 tons of
cargo annually (2024 figures, with 12.6% growth). Ensuring no systemic
problems exist is crucial to prevent flight accidents in U.S. airspace and at
U.S. airports.
Broader Context: EVA fined NT$2.8M (2023–2025) for overtime/labor
violations; 2019 union strike over similar rostering.
Request:
FAA audit EVA's FRMS, CRM training, and medical protocols under Part
129/IASA for Taiwan to prevent recurrence. This is a pattern, not isolated—
urgent for U.S. safety. Given EVA's history of internal investigations
yielding limited transparency (e.g., 2019 strike probes criticized by unions
for self-serving outcomes) and past reliance on CAA oversight that unions
allege enabled cover-ups of labor/safety lapses, I strongly recommend a
third-party or independent investigation (e.g., via ICAO experts or
FAA-led panel) rather than solely relying on EVA's self-reported findings.
This ensures unbiased accountability and protects U.S. operations.
