We are saddened by the passing of longtime baseball operations executive Walt Jo cketty. As General Manager of the St. Louis Cardinals for 13 seasons alongside Hall of F ame manager Tony La Russa, his teams made 7 Postseason appearances, won 2 Nation al League pennants, and the 2006 World Series championship. Jocketty was named MLB Executive of the Year in 2000 and 2004, and won the award for a third time in 2010 as General Manager of the Cincinnati Reds, who made th e Postseason 3 times under his watch. Most recently, Jocketty served the Reds as Executive Assistant to the CEO since 2016. This season marked his 50th year in professional baseball.
