标题[求救] herpesvirus设计family的primer&probe

大家好
想请教一下！
最近在设计有关於此family的primer and probe
有参考paper均是设计在polymerase，老板要我提供为甚麽要设计在此区域的理论
基础给他，但我找了相关paper，大多也是像^This generepresents a highly
conserved and homologous region in the herpesviruses group.^
这样简单描述，没有再更细部的说明，想请问为什麽大家都设计在
DNA polymerase gene（UL30），有没有细部解说或是功能资料呢？
又或者可相关的paper或资料可佐证呢？
