Now, we will show the aesthetic form of calligraphy. The teacher, sory, will demonstrate to all of you. As we showed you before, we think that every word, whether be written by English or Chinese, has the rhythm. To combine with both rhythm and movement, the calligraphy has developed different type of forms. 14. 兰亭集序 (Lan Ting Ji Xu)－The Orchid Pavilion First of all we are going to introduce "兰亭集序", which is written by 王羲之 in 晋 dynasty. For this style of form, as you see in the power-point, every works are so leisurely and elegant. 15.-17. 兰亭修褉图 For ancients, they have a custom to get together wherever near the river to clean up the body, drink the wine and write poetries in spring. For their concerned, calamity would be expelled by this way. This work is the situation at that time. 18. 张猛龙碑 I will show you another form, we call it, 张猛龙碑, which character present the angle very obviously. As you see on the ppt, every stroke is very sharp. We can imagine that the knife carves the stone, and every shape is pointy. 19. 类似的例子：始平公造像　Similar Example: 始平公造像 It looks similar like 张猛龙碑, but we will describe this form are more cutest than 张猛龙碑in our eternal Chinese culture.　And it's one of way to identify the 张猛龙碑 and 始平公造像. 20. 郑文公碑 This form will present the words very natural and powerful. Such as this stroke, I prefer to write it with power than lack of strength. This character of feeling likes the people "enjoy the live" and they don't care about spending time and energy writing it or focusing on the work. 21. 黄庭坚：寒食帖卷後跋 This form will present the words very extend. The shape of every word is very special. Such as this stroke, it will more stand out than other stroke. If you are hard to imagine the shape, you can think that you make a stretch of arm. This kind of shape is quite similar to 寒食帖卷後跋. 22. 孔子庙堂 v.s. 九成宫 Now, I will teach you how to differentiate 孔子庙堂 from 九成宫. And I will give you a small quiz. 23. 创作作品 Creation For Chinese aesthetic of the calligraphy, in order to balance a sense of beauty for one work, sometimes we may be very picky the detail, such as the size of words. Besides, we will sign the name and affix a seal on the work to increase the variety. Now, I will demonstrate how to use the seal and affix the seal. (On the structure, we will use the way of small and wet; big and dry…) 24. 其他常见的创作 Common work Besides different characters of calligraphy, we also use different size and color paper to write it. 对联, means we use couplets to write down on two pieces of paper. 春联 is one of important works for Chinese new year, in general we put it on walls and doors which are poetic couplets, happy wishes written on red paper. These messages sound better than the typical fortune cookie messages. For instance, "May you enjoy continuous good health" and "May the Star of Happiness, the Star of Wealth and the Star of Longevity shine on you" are especially positive couplets. 25. 快雪时晴 This is a quite short letter which is written by 王羲之. The content is to greet his friends after heavy snow. From the scrip, we can find that every stroke is so round. The whole feeling is elegant and leisurely. (What's the different between frost and snow?) 26. 平安奉橘何如 王羲之 writes three envelopes to his friend. The first envelope is 平安 which means peaceful and good health. The second envelope is 奉橘, which means he gives his friend 300 oranges. The final envelope is 何如, which means that "how have you been recently?" 27.
