Boston's Rasheed Wallace has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for comments
critical of the officiating in the Mavericks' 99-90 win over the Celtics
Monday in Boston.
Wallace had said that the refs "don't like no tough defense on (Nowitzki), so
of course I get a whole lot of (expletive) calls, but that's how the story
goes.''
Wallace's foul trouble allowed the Mavericks to turn a three-point deficit
into an eight-point lead.
NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced
the fine today. Wallace also vowed that he would remember what happened
Monday when the Celtics visit Dallas in March.
"I ain't worried about it," he said. "We'll see them again. There will be
retribution."
