The former Marseille man feels the media are happier to focus on those events rather than his exploits in front of goal. "I don't know why," stated Drogba. "I can understand if they are unhappy when I don't play well. (我不解为何会这样，若是因为我表现不好而受指责我可以理解。) "Wherever I play I always give everything for my team, and I always have a lot of respect for my shirt and my club." (为了我的球队每次上场我总是尽全力。) Drogba is unrepentant about his handball against Manchester City, suggesting the fault lies with the officials. "I handled it but this is part of the game," he added. "I try to score and if the referee sees the handball there is a restart. He didn't see it, so for me it is (part of) the game."
