The Arizona Republic is reporting that the player to be named in the trade that brought ace Dan Haren to the Angels on Sunday is Tyler Skaggs, a 19-year-old left-hander who is considered one of the top pitching prospects in the Angels' farm system. Skaggs, a former Santa Monica High School star, was a sandwich pick between the first and second rounds of the 2009 draft. He is 8-4 with a 3.61 earned-run average in 19 games, 14 of them starts, for Class-A Cedar Rapids (Iowa). Angels left-hander Joe Saunders, a big-league rotation mainstay for the last four years, was the centerpiece of the package the Angels sent to Arizona for Haren, a three-time All-Star.
