R兄, 不好意思! 这话是我说不清楚, 我应该更正确的描述说您曾在八卦板上说及 Lucas 说他数学不好... (不过, 他如果数学不好的话, 那大概数学好的经济学者可能真的就没 几个了! XD) : 不过, Lucas 的数学, 根据强者我老师说, Lucas 上课上到一半的时候, 会含情默默的 : (?) 看着 Stokey, 然後以经济学的标准而言的美女 Stokey 就会讲解数学部分... ....................... : Who is your teacher?? : Stokey didn't show up when I took Lucas's course. : And I NEVER know that she has every been showning up. : They are very old fashion guys if you know them in person, : and seldom show emtions in public. 啊! 我老师曾到芝加哥做交换教授, 他说他确实是遇过 Lucas 上课上到一半後请 Stokey 讲解数学部分呀... 至於含情默默的部分, 这是我自己太过夸饰了. 认真的说, 如果有冒犯的话, 我真的该 说抱歉... (我老师的原文是, 交换一个眼神, Stokey 就很有默契的上台将数学部分讲解完毕. ) : 我个人想啦, (这边希望没有 Lucas 的学生... orz) , Lucas 的数学大概是他和 : Stokey 在谈情说爱时顺便学的... : Well....Lucas was her teacher when she was a phd student(not advisor). : They are both excellent economists. : However, they have very different style and approach about economics : if you read their papers. 咦! 就我所知, Lucas 很多的数学该会来自其前妻与 Stokey 的帮助 (或许还有 Prescott, 这点我不太确定!) 当然, 这里也是夸饰了过头一点. 不过我 的确在某本书中看到 Lucas 曾经十分感谢 Stokey 在数学上给予他大量的帮助. 那本书呀... 我找找看, 我找找看, 我找找看... (我现在在上海呀! ) : People in Chicago learning things from each other, no need to fall in love : them(will be too many to love:)) 嗯! 这也是我老师最常和我们所说的外部性呀! 就好像在念研究所时, 我们班的外部性真的很强 (因为我都当 free rider 来抄作业! XD) 那种感觉真的是要亲身经历过後才会体会的... : 这个故事呢, 对我个人的感觉是, 如果要成为一名出色的经济学家, 数学可以不好... : 但是一定要追到一个数学很好的女生呀! : 与各位经济学板的男性板友共勉之! XD : Well... according to my observation, the later is harder. 哈哈! The later, the harder... ^_____^ : If you are a phd student already, my advice(from almost ALL professors : in U of C) is: get a coauthor. 我真的希望我可以有机会再回去念书呀... 真的希望呀... orz --
