标题[文法] 形容词在名词後面的状况该如何解读?

这是两句高中指考英文模拟题本
(诠达文教 英文指考抢分题库第12回 综合测验2,文意选填)的句子

第1个问题:
想请问一下第一句最後面的
"their lives pre- and post- exile"是否可以改成
"their pre- and post- exile lives" 呢?
因为"pre- and post- exile"意思是 "放逐前後的"形容词，这样改是否合理呢?
另外想请问一下，这样把形容词放在名词後面，是否可以直接解读为"受词补语"呢?
或是有甚麽其他更好的解读吗?请问有人可以在这边替我文法分析一下吗?
第2个问题:
第二句的的最後
"in cages more typical of a shelter."
是否可以改写为"in a more typical of a shelter---cage"呢?
因为他也是拿来形容cages，所以原剧的写法是否也可以解读为"受词补语"吗?
或是有甚麽其他更好的解读?希望可以指导一下这边的阅读盲点~

想请问一下：最後面的"present(出现)"为什麽可以直接使用现在式来表达呢?
如果改成现在分词的"presenting"，以形容词子句的省略写法来呈现是否可以呢?
