请问高手们一个英文文法问题
(就算不是高手也欢迎参与讨论)
有关either...or...与both......and.....的问题

先请问一下either....or.....的部分
例句一：
Either you or your dad will pay for your mom.
(不是你就是你爸会帮你妈付钱)
有人问我说例句一的 「Either you or your dad」是不是当句子的主词
我说应该不是
我说「Either you or your dad」应该是副词性质修饰will pay
(因为牛津字典把either.....or.....放在either的adv.部分)
但是我不确定我讲的对不对
请各位高手指教一下
