时态正确，意思不一致。shouldn't have 是不应该的意思，所以跟你想讲的
原本可以不用买不太一样。
如果是我，我会写：
I could have waited.
I could have saved it.
I could have waited until I got home.
I could have saved it without buying it.
I didn't have to bother.
I didn't have to buy it.

嘿你好！我觉得在第二人称时有比较多%的「不用」语意，在第一人称时有比较多%的「不
该」语意，因此我个人理解是如此！您有其它看法当然是没问题的。
