标题[求译] 难以理解的新闻短句....

请问一下，这篇新闻的第三段看不太懂，

如第三段第一句「People made his group tea」 这里的group要怎麽翻比较顺呢？
和接下来那句「brought the people leftover rice and one time」—>带给这些人剩饭
剩菜和一次？
