标题[文法] nonetheless可以与"but"合用吗?

大家好,
想请问nontheless可以用but并用吗?
因为如果是however
通常我们不会在另外使用but
但我查到网路上有:
"it was the barest of welcomes, but it was a welcome nonetheless"
但nontheless的同义字中有however,也有but和still等
所以是可以与but并用也可以不并用吗?
还是与but并用有加强语气之感?
